The Haloxaire was brought to the hospital from the FST whenever we needed it. The hospital did have a Boyle’s machine but the supply of gas was uncertain.

Weapons were all handed over to the anaesthetist who carefully placed them on the window ledge well away from the patient’s relatives who often watched the goings on from the door of the operating theatre.
